📜 Job description
We are looking for a Biologist Technician Intern (3 months – starting June) to support the R&D and Applications teams to focus on basic biology by preparing solutions, running chemical assays, and performing basic physicochemical measurements on samples from bioprocesses. Your work will contribute directly to the calibration and validation of InSpek’s sensors by ensuring we gather high-quality, reproducible chemical data.
This is a hands-on position at the intersection of chemistry and biotechnology —ideal for someone who loves working in the lab and wants to make a concrete impact.
🛠️ Responsbilities
Basic chemistry & sample analysis
- Prepare buffers, media, and standard solutions following precise recipes
- Perform routine measurements: pH, optical density
- Carry out chemical assays on fermentation samples (e.g. sugars, products)
- Collect, label, and process samples from small-scale bioreactors
Support for sensor development
- Participate in calibration experiments with InSpek’s optical sensors
- Assist in handling and organizing Raman and reference data
- Help ensure proper traceability and documentation of all measurements
- Format and share results to support data analysis and model building
Laboratory support & documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized lab environment
- Keep detailed records of experimental work and help write protocols
- Take part in equipment maintenance, chemical inventory, and waste management
✨ What we need from you
- You are studying biology, biotechnology, bioprocessing, or a related field (Bachelor or technical degree level)
- You have experience in basic microbiology or cell culture techniques
- You are meticulous, proactive, and enjoy hands-on lab work
- You are comfortable following SOPs and working under sterile conditions
- You’re curious about bioprocessing, sensor technologies, and R&D environments
- Bonus points if you’ve worked with spectroscopic or analytical tools (e.g. UV-Vis, Raman)
- You speak French and English (both useful in our bilingual lab!)
