📜 Job description

We are looking for an integrated photonics intern for 4-6 months to assist in the optical simulations, design and measurements of photonic integrated circuits (PIC), which are at the core of InSpek’s unique sensing technology.

The intern will be fully integrated within the team and will participate actively in the daily life of the company, including technical and coordination meetings.

🛠️ Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute experimental protocols to test and validate integrated photonic components and perform hands-on photonic component testing on our development platform:
    • Optical fiber-to-chip coupling for efficient interfacing
    • Optical response of complex integrated components with standard characterisation equipment (laser, SLED, spectrometer, powermeter, etc.)
    • Optical sensing and Raman spectroscopy system on chip
  • Design and simulate photonic components and circuits using advanced simulation software
  • Data analysis and periodic reporting with our team of experts

✨ What we need from you

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or a related field
  • Good understanding of the fundamental concepts of optics and electromagnetics
  • Ideally experience with optical characterisation
  • Familiarity with integrated photonics and optical systems would be a plus
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Proactivity, creativity, and all the soft skills that will help build the success of InSpek with us!
